Kimberly Blaeser’s essay “Rituals of Memory” discusses her life experiences growing up as an American catholic and a Native American. Blaeser compares her friends' curly hair to our relationships to our relationships to our family, place, and community because everyone has different heritages. The main idea Blaeser argues is that our memories and the stories we tell make us who we are. Blaeser uses the memory of Memorial Days spent with the legionnaires visiting graveyards and Indian burial grounds, an example of a time when her two cultures came together. She attended a Catholic school and talks about her Indian cultural experiences hunting, crafting and going to powwows. Her life at school is documented but her life at home is only recorded in her memories and stories, which define who she is.

That you don't have to write a very long paper to get a good grade.
